Who is DJ Cyber Sentinel?

I'm DJ Cyber Sentinel, and I'm truly glad you're here.

If you've found your way to this website, chances are we already have something in common. Maybe you discovered me through one of my morning Music Therapy streams, caught a themed episode on Tik Rok Radio, joined a Brews & Breakdowns interview, or simply share a passion for music, technology, and building genuine connections.

However you arrived, welcome to the community.

People often ask where the name DJ Cyber Sentinel came from. The answer isn't found in a single moment—it's the culmination of a lifetime of service, leadership, technology, creativity, and an unwavering belief that music has the power to bring people together.

My journey began with service.

I proudly served in the Army National Guard from 2001 to 2013, dedicating more than a decade to serving my state and my country during a time when our nation needed committed men and women to answer the call.

Throughout my enlisted career, I served in multiple roles, beginning as an 11C Indirect Fire Infantryman, transitioning to 11B Infantryman, and later becoming a 79T Recruiting and Retention NCO. Every assignment challenged me in different ways and helped develop the leadership, discipline, adaptability, and teamwork that continue to guide my life today.

Toward the end of my enlisted career, I had the privilege of serving as the Assistant Military Professor for the Johns Hopkins University ROTC Program. Working alongside future Army officers gave me the opportunity to mentor, teach, and help prepare the next generation of military leaders. It remains one of the most rewarding assignments of my career because it wasn't simply about training soldiers—it was about investing in people.

During my military career, I completed Air Assault School and SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape) training, experiences that tested both my physical and mental limits. Those schools reinforced lessons that continue to shape me today: remain calm under pressure, adapt to changing circumstances, trust your team, and never stop learning.

One of the accomplishments I'm most proud of was helping establish a Georgia Army National Guard Honors Funeral Program. Ensuring that veterans receive the military honors they earned is a responsibility that carries profound meaning, and knowing that the program continues to serve military families today is something I'll always be proud of.

After completing my assignment at Johns Hopkins, I accepted a new challenge by becoming a Warrant Officer and pursuing a lifelong dream of becoming a 151A UH-60 Black Hawk pilot. I attended Warrant Officer Candidate School and continued into Army flight training. Having roughly 150 Hours in a helicopter.  Although I ultimately did not complete flight school, the experience taught me one of the most valuable lessons of my life: success isn't defined solely by the destination. Sometimes it's the discipline, resilience, humility, and perseverance developed along the journey that shape us the most.

Those years in uniform laid the foundation for everything that followed.

When my military career came to a close, I found a new mission in cybersecurity.

Protecting systems isn't all that different from protecting people. Both require preparation, continuous learning, critical thinking, and the ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment.

For more than a decade, I've worked in the cybersecurity field, helping organizations strengthen their security posture while navigating an increasingly complex digital landscape. Along the way, I've earned certifications including Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA), Security+, and Network+, while continuing to pursue new knowledge as technology evolves.

The name Cyber Sentinel reflects more than my profession. To me, it represents a mindset—remaining vigilant, protecting what matters, leading with integrity, and always striving to leave things better than I found them.

While service and cybersecurity shaped my career, music has always shaped my life.

Like so many people, I've experienced moments where a single song could change my mood, bring back a memory, help me process a difficult day, or remind me that I wasn't alone.

Music became more than entertainment.

It became therapy.

That realization inspired me to create a space where others could experience that same connection.

Today, that vision has grown into a community that reaches people through multiple platforms.

Every morning, I host Music Therapy, where people gather before work, school, or wherever life takes them to share great music, conversations, laughs, and encouragement. It's more than a livestream—it's a place where people check in with one another, discover new artists, and start the day together.

Through Tik Rok Radio, I create themed radio programs that combine carefully curated playlists with storytelling, creating experiences that listeners can connect with on a deeper level.

I'm also the host of Brews & Breakdowns, where I sit down with bands, musicians, and creators to explore the stories behind the music. My goal has never been to simply ask questions—it's to give artists a platform where they can share their journey, celebrate their work, and connect with fans in a meaningful way.

Creativity has always been part of who I am.

Beyond broadcasting, I'm an author, songwriter, comic creator, and children's book writer. I enjoy building projects that inspire curiosity, encourage imagination, and bring people together through storytelling.

Whether I'm writing, producing radio shows, interviewing artists, or streaming live, I approach every project with the same goal: create something authentic that leaves a positive impact.

At the heart of everything I do is one simple belief:

Community matters.

Music matters.

People matter.

Every stream, every radio show, every interview, and every conversation is an opportunity to make someone's day a little better, introduce someone to their next favorite band, or remind them that they're not alone.
